Amtrak won't say whether it will make public its criteria for picking a contractor for its Trumpified Penn Station revamp.

Amtrak has not released a cost estimate for the Penn Station rebuild, but previous planning studies and public commentary have cited figures upward of $6 billion for various redevelopment concepts, but officials have not tied the current procurement to a defined budget or scope-based cost range.
Ten months after Amtrak scaled back its Empire Service between Penn Station and Albany-Rensselaer to accommodate ongoing repair work in two of the four East River Tunnels, Hochul announced that the intercity passenger rail company "will be restoring all suspended or combined" trains on the route beginning in early March.
